The « Free Figures ».

The Free Figures are gallery installations of different dimensions, beween 21x8cm and 60x50cm, suspended in space at eye level.

The drawings, on paper, cardboard or X-ray sheets, take on an untramelled life of their own. In permanent gentle motion, the torn, cut out or cut away figures defy space, sometimes mingling, sometimes obstructing each other from view or partially hiding themselves.

They are reminiscent of puppets, fragments of mobiles or Chinese shadows, at one moment transparent, at another backlit.
